Industrial, Post-Punk Update

Get ready for some industrial, post-punk and hardcore noise. Some of these blogs I intend to categorise under the metal and punk sections, others will find their home in a new Industrial/ Gothic/ Emo section.

• Salmagundi Syncopation - Blog description says: "All kinds of music from out of print LPs and CDs to world music, punk, hardcore, industrial and metal". Now you now what to expect! Weekly updates, nice lay out.
• Imaginary Dark does Cello Metal, Dark Cabaret, Dark Electro, Deathrock, Doom Metal among other dark genres.
• Destroy Silence opens your ears for Alternative, Post Punk, Gothic and other industrial inspired music.
• Happy Fun Good Time Smile Look Ouch (great title) looks somewhat dead but did experimental music with a classic touch (Randy Newman, Peter Gabriel, Coil and Roxy Music).
• Glinena ovca (argillaceous sheep with ceramic teeth) is an infrequently updated music blog which is specialised in experimental and industrial music.
• Gatekeepers is most definitely not only a metal blog, but also does alternative and progressive rock. Unfortunately the blog has not been updated in the last 3 months.
• SheerInertia's Engine - "Music for those inclined to think", well that is what the description says. Expect Christian Death, Love and Rockets, Swans, The sisterhood etc.
• MantelDerNacht - Is also an industrial electronic blog which does Electronic, New Beat, Techno, Goa Trance, synth pop among other things.

Country Update

Today a new link section dedicated to the country genre. Please find below a selection of good blogs which should provide you with a bite more than just an introduction:

• Just Country - Should be one of the most comprehensive country blogs on the WWW. A must see for the fans. TIP.
• Any Music Mania - Has all kinds of music, but is seemingly a nice place to start looking for more contemporary country music.
• Tributo-Americano - Is a Spanish blog dedicated to the beauties of American country and rock.
• Download Country Music MP3 - Does not only do country, but also other genres. Nevertheless, not a bad blog to browse through.

Blues Update

All the below blogs must be checked out in order to be labelled a true blues listener. It is difficult to TIP one of these blogs without recommending them all. Amazing sex for the ears! Please check them out and leave a comment on their blogs just to support them!

• Telhados do Mundo - A gateway and dedication to raw and authentic Blues and Jazz. This one is well recommended for those who appreciate legendary names such as: Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers, Sonny Rollins and Ben Webster.
• Blues Everyday - What to expect from a blog with such a name? Blues and lots of it! Sonny Boy Williamson, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Joe Hill Louis etc, etc. Enjoy!
• Blues Town - A "must see". Blues Town gives you almost everything on an every day basis. From Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings to Todor "Toscho" Todorovic. An established blog - TIP.
• Crossroads Club 27 - Another, last, blog that one has to check out. A love is shared here for heroes such as Albert King, B.B. King (27 posts!), Big Joe Williams and Bob Dylan. I can't deny that whichever blog dedicates 33 posts on Dylan deserves a TIP (I am biased, I know!).

1980s Update

Its time for the 1980s, whether you like it or hate it! Here they come:

Cygnet Committee - Pop and Disco remixes from the 1980s. Blog has not been updated for a month.
Strctly Mixes - From the same owner as the above blog, but more frequently updated. This one does 12" Remixes from the best of 1980s' Pop and Disco.
Julia's Club Eighties - A good source, and frequently updated, for your 1980s mixes. Julia does everything from Pop to Techno and Disco to Rock. A great starting point for all your 80s wishes.
80s House Music - The name gives it away. A blog dedicated to the delights of Acid House, Chicago house, DMC and Jack Trax.
No Guts No Glory No 80's - Another great blog for the lovers of 1980s pop and disco. This blog has a massive collection of Divine and Bobby "O" albums.

1970s/ 1980s Pop and Disco Entries

We are going back a few decades today to finally arrive in the 1990s and the 1980s. Enjoy these smaller blogs which are specialised in disco and pop music from that time:

• Dance Classics Club - Mixes disco music from the 1980s into a nice dance remix ensembles.
• DJ Copycat - Is a Swedish blog with pop homemade remixes.
• Dj-n1 Blog - Is an easy 1980s/ 1990s pop music blog.

Electro and House Update

Time for some house/ electro/ minimal blogs now. These are all well worth a visit, carefully selected personally. Enjoy!

• Worldmusiky - Is a blog which aims to bring the best of the world of electronic/techno music together. Expect the best of electro from around the world.
  
• House-Musique - Your house haven for everything between Paul van Dyk and Felix Da Housecat. House-Musique also promotes young talented DJs by uploading their mixes. In other words, well worth a visit.
• Beat-Junkies - I should have introduced you probably earlier already to this blog. A TIP no doubt for all those that call them beat-junkies. Lots of updates, nice lay-out and a great variety of house beats. No doubt well recommended for all the fans of this genre.
• Electro Station - A good blog for all you electro and house fans. What to expect? Electro House, Progressive House and a lot more of Electro House. Nice and simple lay-out with very regular updates. Good stuff.
  
• Feeling mnml - A wordpress blog which is specialised in Minimal or as the blog description says itself a place "where minimal music comes to play".

Bollywood!

There is a not a lot of Bollywood music on this blog (yet). I decided to change this to also please my Indian visitors and hope that others are willing/ brave enough to try something else. Please do not hesitate to drop me a line when you got your own Bollywood/ Hindi music blog.

• Download Hindi Songs - A large database with especially newer Bollywood songs.
  
• Musicologistic - Is another Bollywood/ Hindi contemporary music blog.

Let's see what we have here, a well recommended blog full of experimental gems, a smart Hip Hop blog, some samba to warm up this summer and a good Trip-Hop blog that is well worth a bit of your time. In other words enjoy!

• Secret Musix Box - A good place for your Trip-Hop, Acid Jazz and Electronica. Enjoy cause this is good!
• Experimental etc - The name says it all. What to find here? Jackie-O Motherfucker, Stereolab and Homesick For Space. I am giving it a TIP since this gay/ gal knows his/ her stuff,
• Hiphoprevol - I know that I have a lot of Hip Hop blogs already on this blog, however this one is particularly pretty good. A lot of good records, from the best labels: Fat Beats, Ninja Tunes, Hydeout Productions, etc. A TIP for the Hip Hop people.
• Mistureba Musical - Find your off the beaten track music here. Wax Poetic, Air, Goldfrapp among others. Most of it can be accommodated under alternative and progressive pop. A good blog and thus well worth a visit.
• J thyme kind - Is a cool blog, specialised in Brazilian sounds ranging from Samba to Música Popular Brasileira. Perfect for this sunny summer!

Today some dark fantasies, a lot of metal, some black indie and a tad of electro love. Enjoy these new blogs:

• Bleak Blank Tragedy - has as motto that "Death is more perfect than life" (originally the title of a book by Larry Clark). This politically inspired ethos seems to be reflected in the music choice in which dark metal powers play center stage. What to find here? Sludge metal (Steve von Till), Hardcore punk (Circle Takes the Square), among other prog. rock and metal.
• Garden of Fantasies - has a fairy tale touch to it. Come here for your Gothic metal, Power metal, but also some darker Indie rock and Post Grunge. The owner of the blog looks cute by the way.
• Electro-premium - Well what to expect from a blog with this name? The title says it all, "For Electronic Music Lover" only. Premium is especially strong in compilations.
• xLeftys Junkx - A nice title for a blog which is specialised in Deathcore, Metalcore, Hardcore, Screamo Indie (check to find out what that means), Acoustic and even some Electronica.

There is just so many Hip Hop blogs... Here is a couple of them:

• hip-hops finest - The blog's name is a big statement. Does it live up to its name? Well, that is up to you to decide. HH Finest has mainstream US HH and some good classics.
• The Defiction - Is a HH blog on hiatus.
• Kuestion de Negros - is the kind of blog that I would go to for experiencing the lesser known site of HH. Jazz mixes, disco beats and prog. Hip Hop make this blog better than a lot of others.
• Laji Ke music - is a blinky looking blog, with a lot of noise. A lot of French and US gangster rap. Expect a lot of Eminem, Dr. Dre and bits of Afrika Bambaataa and Aesop Rock and you will be fine.
• Culturlistik - Another, somewhat mainstream HH blog with some good records here (Airborn Audio), there (Pacific Division Sealed For Freshness) and here (GZA - Liquid Swords).

The Casual Seagull

What to find on the The Casual Seagull? Expect some Pixies, Therapy?, Rancid, but also Kid Frost and CNN. In other words, Indie punk and a little tad of hip hop. It's a pity that most of it are not full albums though :(. Sean will this change (please, please)? Cheerz!

• Zinhof My Music - This blog knows its music. The whole Beatles discography, BB King, Billy Idol, but also Etta James and even Whitesnake (A lot of "Best of and discographies).
• NitroFiles - Is another decent blog. Featuring New Order, Simple Minds, but also more mainstream Pop and Rock music.
• 8 DAYS IN APRIL - Want to know what 'Krautrock' constitutes of? Check this blog out. Also your source for Vintage Psychedelic and Progressive rock! This is quality!
• TWILIGHTZONE! I reckon that this must be the best music blog that I visited today. Kuddos for the twilight! Psychedelic, garage, trashy punk and even some classic rock & roll. Definitely TIP!
• Opium Ben - I spoke to Ben yesterday and asked him to describe his Blog, he responded: "Quark, Strangeness & Charm" I think he was right. TIP d'art l'avant garde!
